How to reach us

By car
Milan Cathedral Museum is located in Piazza Duomo 12, in the old part of the city, and therefore cannot be directly accessed by car. Car parking is available near Piazza Fontana from which Piazza Duomo is approximately 400 metres on foot or in Piazza Diaz which is 200 metres on foot.

Visitors should remember that the area around the Cathedral is subject to Area C restrictions, i.e. Limited Traffic Zone within the old city walls, operating on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 19:30, and on Thursdays from 7:30 to 18:00.

By train
From the Central Station, take the Yellow Underground (M3) line and get off at Duomo
From the Central Station, take the Red Underground (M1) line and get off at Duomo
From Garibaldi Station, take the Green Underground (M2) line, change at Cadorna to the red line (M1) and get off at Duomo

By air
The airports nearest the Cathedral are Malpensa and Linate.

From Malpensa:
The Central Railway Station can be reached by the bus shuttle service or by taxi. The Malpensa Express train connects the airport to the Central and Garibaldi railway stations.
The bus shuttle service departures are scheduled approximately every half hour from 03:45 to 00:30.

From Linate:
Bus 73 connects the airport to the central railway station from 06:05 to 23:35.

By underground
The Duomo stop is served by the red line (M1) and the yellow line (M3).

By tram
The lines that go to piazza Duomo are:
* Piazza Fontana stop, trams 15 and 23
* Via Torino stop, trams 2 and 3
* Via Mazzini stop, trams 16, 24, 12 and 27

By bike
Milan has a bike sharing service BikeMi (link to website) where visitors can hire bikes to visit the old city centre. Various docking stations are located around the Cathedral. Times, tariffs, documents required and location of hire points can be found in the service’s website.


The Museum can be reached by public transport and on foot. It is located on the ground floor of Palazzo Reale [the Royal Palace] and complies with Regulation no. 503 of 1996 concerning the elimination of architectural barriers in public buildings, spaces and services; in particular, it is equipped with ramps where necessary, toilets for the disabled and lift to the lecture hall on the mezzanine floor. The ticket office is located at the museum entrance and here you can find documentation, maps and audioguides to facilitate your visit; groups and school parties should go to the central ticket office, to the right of the Cathedral front. The museum operates in conjunction with VAMI to provide activities for the disabled and ensure that they can make full use of the museum. Consult opening times and tickets.
