The Cathedral Museum works with several national and international organisations on projects for safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage.

La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre 
Since 2011 the Cathedral Museum and the Conservation and Restoration Centre have successfully collaborated, also thanks to the Department for Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological heritage for the Provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza, Pavia, Sondrio and Varese, in terms of education and training of future restorers in the fields of stone, wood, plaster and terracotta sculpture, textiles and paintings on wood.

Touring Club Italiano
Milan Cathedral Museum takes part in the project “open for you in Milan” thanks to the volunteers of Touring Club Italiano who assist the museum staff. 

Lombardy Regional Authorities, Sacro Cuore Catholic University and Department for Archaeological Heritage of Lombardy
For some time now, thanks to the participation of the Lombardy Regional Authorities and the support of the Archaeological Heritage Department, the Veneranda Fabbrica and the Department of History, Archaeology and History of Art of the Sacro Cuore Catholic University have been working together on improvement of the archaeological area of the Baptistery of San Giovanni and Basilica of Santa Tecla which led to reorganisation of the visitors’ route and the conference “Piazza Duomo before the Cathedral” which was held at the Cathedral Museum in December 2010.

The Cathedral Museum is one of the founder members of AMEI (Associazione Musei Ecclesiastici Italiani) [Association of Italian Ecclesiastical Museums], which was set up 1996 to contribute to establishing, promoting and conserving religious museums in Italy, employing them as a cultural tool among the Christian communities and society in general.

The Cathedral Museum is a member of ICOM - International Council of Museums, the international organisation of museums and museum professionals committed to preserving, ensuring the continuity and promoting the value of the world’s cultural and natural heritage, both present and future, material and immaterial. Established in 1946, ICOM is a non-profit organisation comprising over 30,000 members in all 5 continents. 

The Cathedral Museum’s commitment to popularisation of culture involves the collaboration of prestigious local and national associations and institutions to guarantee the quality and breadth of its educational mission. 

Leonardi da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum of MilanThe multimedial project “Leonardo and the construction site of Milan Cathedral”, which includes a 3D reconstruction of some of the phases in the building of the Cathedral, was carried out in collaboration with the Cathedral Museum. It is an important scientific and technical educational project applied to the history of Milan Cathedral. 

VAMI Italian Museums Volunteer Association
Since 1996 the Museum has been collaborating with VAMI to allow visually impaired visitors to enjoy its historic and artistic treasures, guaranteeing appropriate facilities.
