The most-loved Celebration of the year is getting closer and, from Sunday 29th November, the Veneranda Fabbrica Educational Services invite children and kids between 3 and 12 years old, and their families, to live the magic of Advent among the halls of the Grande Museo del Duomo. Our little visitors will be led in a voyage to discover ancient Christmas traditions, near and far away. A special tour, dedicated to Christmas all over the world, from Sweden to Mexico, from Romania to The Netherlands to Spain, to finally come back to Milan. Inspired by the costumes of other people, we will create together a beautiful decoration to hang to the Christmas Tree.
We will start from the most curious artworks in the Museum: a star will lead us to Romania, where stars are brought in a procession by children on Christmas Eve. The precious Hummingbrid Miter created in Mexico in the XVI century will let us discover the celebrations with the pinatas, typical of the central America country. And more: we will meet Saint Nicholas, protector of children, who will accompany us in The Netherlands. The statue of St. Lucy will bring us in Sweden where, on the 13th December, the Queen of Light is celebrated. A tapestry depicting the Adoration of the Magi will open the doors of Spain, where children get presents on the 6th January with the arrival of Los Reyes Magos. And, in the voyage, Italy will sure not be missed, represented by Milan and its symbol in the world, the Madonnina, who hugs the city and will bring us in an ancient bakery, renowned for the classic Panettone.
