The Collections

The Cathedral Museum houses a large collection of historical and artistic treasures, a precious record of the history of the Cathedral, including an extensive display of sculptures, stained glass, paintings, tapestries and embroidery, terracotta studies and large architectural models, all works that cover a period spanning from the 15th to the 20th century.
The Cathedral Treasure, today exhibited in the Museum, includes objects older than the Cathedral itself, such as late antiquity ivory diptyches (5th-9th centry), works attributed to Ariberto d’Intimiano (11th century), and 16th-17th century gold, enamel and embossed work.
